An award-winning author of fifteen books I was Professor of Architecture at Cardiff University until taking early retirement in 2013 to focus on my studio; I am now a Visiting Professor in the School of Art and Design at Cardiff Metropolitan University. I have exhibited on several occasions in the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition and my work has been published in numerous magazines in the UK and abroad. I work with one part-time assistant Rosie Blatchford, who has a first class honours degree in Fine Art Photography.

My work has been widely published in magazines in the UK, the USA, The Netherlands and Russia, and the development of my scarves for Liberty was featured at length on the BBC2 series ‘Britain’s Next Big Thing’ in 2011, with a related feature article in the Independent on Sunday. I have appeared several time on BBC Radio 4 and 3, including an episode of ‘In Our Time’ with Melvyn Bragg and several of ‘Turning World’ with Jenni Murray.
